Halloweed: Silk Road NYC's Halloween Party Behind the Shop in Jamaica Queens
Silk Road NYC throws its Halloween party on the Friday before Halloween, in the event space behind the shop. We call it Halloweed. The second one ran on Friday, October 24, 2025 — which tells you the first one ran in 2024, our opening year.
That’s the photo booth: guests in costume in front of the green neon, under a banner reading “Silk Road NYC — Second Annual” with bats and bare branches. An MF DOOM mask. Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four. Elsewhere in the night, a Grinch in a full Santa suit.
Green webbing, caution tape, blue and purple light, the room full. The clips are timestamped 6:56, 8:06 and 9:32 that Friday evening; the photo booth shots went up the next afternoon captioned “From yesterday 🎉”.
Why the record is thinner than the history
Here’s something worth saying plainly, because it explains a gap. Our original Instagram page — @silkroad.nyc — was mass-reported and taken down. Years of posts went with it, including most of what we’d put up around that first Halloweed in 2024.
So when you look for our history online, some of it simply isn’t there anymore, and not because it didn’t happen. The 2025 party’s own banner says Second Annual — the receipt for the 2024 one survives inside the 2025 one. It’s the same reason we’ve started putting this history on our own website instead of trusting it to a platform: a page we control can’t be reported away.
