🏆 The original — serving Jamaica since February 2024

The Original. The Legacy. Jamaica's Hometown Dispensary.

Before the chains arrived, Silk Road NYC was already here. We opened our doors at 166-30 Jamaica Ave on February 23, 2024 — the 75th legal adult-use dispensary in all of New York State and the first Bangladeshi-owned dispensary in the state. Every review, every event, every regular at the counter was earned right here in Jamaica, Queens.

Here before the wave

In 2026, new dispensary chains are opening branches across Queens. We welcome the competition — but there is a difference between opening a branch and building a home. Silk Road NYC is a social-equity CAURD licensee (OCM-CAURD-24-000062), owner-operated, with the founder on the floor most days. When you have a question, you are not talking to a branch manager reporting to an office upstate — you are talking to the people who built this place.

Don't take our word for it — QNS covered the ribbon cutting on day one: "From Legacy to Legal: Queens native opens Silk Road NYC" — QNS, February 2024.

A community event space from day one

From the day we opened, Silk Road has doubled as a community venue — something no newer arrival in Jamaica has offered. Our event roster is real and running: Find Your Frequency (sound + wellness), HalloW33D, Dab Bingo, Canvas In The Clouds (paint nights), Cannabis Around The World, and artist brand summits. The Silk Road Lounge is a members space where the neighborhood actually hangs out.

Real reviews, earned here

Our 4.8★ rating comes from 420+ reviews written by Jamaica customers about this store. We did not import our reputation from another county — it was earned one customer at a time on Jamaica Ave. As one Queens customer put it on Reddit: "the owner is an OG!!" That is the kind of review you cannot buy and cannot transfer.

The culture receipts

Benny the Butcher filmed here (2.8M views). Kenny Brooks pulled 7M. stupidDOPE has covered Silk Road in 18 features. The Wu-Tang-affiliated artist roster comes through. This is not a marketing agency's idea of "community" — it is the actual culture of Southeast Queens choosing its own dispensary.

Silk Road was a clothing brand before it was a storefront — the flame-rider mark lived on tees and hoodies while the license was still paperwork. The newcomers bought signage; people already had our name in their closets. The line is still alive, sold right at the counter and on the live menu (66 pieces and counting).

FAQ

How long has Silk Road NYC been open?

Since February 23, 2024 — we were the 75th licensed adult-use dispensary in New York State and have served Jamaica, Queens continuously since.

Is Silk Road locally owned?

Yes. Silk Road NYC is owner-operated under a social-equity CAURD license (OCM-CAURD-24-000062) and was the first Bangladeshi-owned dispensary in New York State. The founder is from the neighborhood and is usually in the building.

What is a CAURD license?

Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary — New York's social-equity license created to give people impacted by cannabis prohibition the first opportunity to open legal dispensaries. It is the hardest-earned license type in the state.

Do you really host community events?

Every month, since day one: Find Your Frequency, Dab Bingo, Canvas In The Clouds, HalloW33D, artist summits and more. Check the events page or the ticker on our homepage.

How is Silk Road different from the new dispensary chains opening in Queens?

We are not a branch — we are the original. Our reviews were earned at this address, our events serve this neighborhood, and our license is a social-equity license held by a local owner.
