Show Us the Deal, We Match It: How Price Matching Works at Silk Road NYC
Starting now, a better licensed price somewhere else is a reason to come here, not a reason to drive. Here is the policy in plain words, from me.
I own Silk Road NYC at 166-30 Jamaica Ave. We opened in February 2024 as the 75th licensed adult-use dispensary in New York, and for a while we were the only licensed store for a long stretch of Jamaica Ave. That is over. There are several licensed shops within a mile of our door now, and by law every one of us buys from New York growers, so the same brands sit on a lot of the same shelves.
Which means the honest question a customer asks is not "who has it" but "why should I pay you more for it." I do not have a good answer to that, so here is the policy: you should not have to.
The promise
Show us a current deal from any licensed New York dispensary on a product we carry, and we match the pre-tax price at the register. If we do not carry that exact item, we match on the closest comparable product we have: same category, same size, similar THC. To the best of our ability, which I define below so it is not a weasel phrase.
What to bring
- A screenshot of the other store's live online menu with the price and today's date visible, or a receipt from the last 24 hours.
- Same brand, same product, same size, same form. An eighth matches an eighth; a 1g cart matches a 1g cart.
- One matched item per customer per day. Pickup orders can be matched at the counter; delivery orders by calling the store before the driver leaves.
What does not qualify
- Unlicensed shops, delivery services with no OCM license, out-of-state prices. The product is not the same thing. Ours is lab-tested, package-dated and tracked from the grower to the register, and the price carries that.
- One-time coupons, first-visit offers, loyalty-point redemptions, bundles, and clearance of a discontinued product.
- Deals you heard about. It has to be live and public today.

"To the best of our ability" in plain words
We match any legitimate licensed price down to what the product costs us. If another store is selling below what we pay the grower, the budtender will tell you that directly, get as close as we can, and point you to the nearest product on our wall that we can match. I would rather lose a sale with a straight answer than make it up on your next visit.
Why I am doing this
Because the alternative is pretending the other shops do not exist, and you can see them from our window. Our specials are on the specials page every week and the live menu shows today's prices on everything, so you can check us before you walk in. If the only thing between us and you is five dollars on an eighth, we will close that gap at the counter.
