HISCORE League: October Gaming Tournaments in Queens
Four Tuesdays bring sports games, UFC, Tekken 8 and a costume-party double bracket to High Functions.
HISCORE League’s October 2026 schedule brings four Tuesday gaming events to High Functions at 166-30 Jamaica Ave, Jamaica NY 11432. FIFA & NBA 2K on October 6, UFC on October 13, Tekken 8 on October 20, and Mortal Kombat & Mario Kart on October 27 each begin at 6 PM. The final date includes a costume party.
The series has a documented path from earlier collaborations to weekly Tuesdays and recurring monthly brackets. The events calendar gives the current lineup. High Functions is a community and cowork event space for 21+ with ID, with entry with a $20+ purchase per person. Nothing is consumed on site.
Before the weekly Tuesday launch
The December 2024 program advertised a Mario Holiday Party tournament and ugly sweater contest for December 20, with HISCORE League named in the announcement. A January 18, 2025 Smash Bros Ultimate event then paired a 4–7 PM workshop with a tournament starting at 7 PM. These earlier collaborations predate the weekly Tuesday launch.
On February 16, 2025, High Functions announced Silk Road NYC Showdown, a weekly tournament starting February 18 at 5 PM. Its lineup included Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The next announcement explicitly called February 25 the second HiScore Tuesday and gave Mario Kart its own tournament, with doors at 5 PM and racing at 7 PM.
From Tekken 7 to Tekken 8
A partner recap posted February 20 named Tekken 7 alongside Mortal Kombat and Smash. High Functions’ own July 15 announcement later advertised Tekken 7 Throwdown, with doors at 6 PM and brackets at 7 PM. That distinction between opening time and bracket time matters when reading older schedules.
The league’s August 11, 2025 schedule announced its first Tekken 8 bracket on August 19. It also placed Mortal Kombat and fighting-game free play at the start of the month, followed by Wii Sports and 2K at the end. An owner-authored August 12 post named Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Tekken and Smash alongside the Mortal Kombat Showdown.
A changing monthly rotation
November 2025’s league caption opened with fighting games, then moved to a monthly Tekken 8 tournament, Wii Sports and racing, and Tetris Friendsgiving. February 2026 rotated through old-school Call of Duty, FIFA with 2K, racing games and Tekken 8. March added Mario Party and Mortal Kombat 11 and 1, before returning to Tekken, Call of Duty and Mario Kart.
April’s schedule included FIFA, Soul Calibur 2, Mortal Kombat, Tekken 8, Mario Kart 8 and Call of Duty. May followed with Call of Duty and Kart, sports night and Tekken 8. July’s caption named FIFA and Mario Strikers, UFC 6, Tekken 8, and a closing Mortal Kombat/Mario Kart pairing. High Functions’ August 18 post also advertised UFC 6. That game-edition history does not establish the edition for October’s more generally titled UFC event.
October’s practical details
The current calendar confirms brackets and a monthly leaderboard. It does not publish elimination rules, seeding, controller compatibility or the points system. Those details should be confirmed with the league host; older start times should not replace October’s announced 6 PM starts.
The Friday Game Night article covers the wider games program, while the event-space history connects gaming to other activities. Store hours are Sun–Wed 10 AM–9 PM and Thu–Sat 10 AM–10 PM. Silk Road NYC’s license is OCM-CAURD-24-000062.
