The First Dispensary in New York With Bidets
It sounds small until you have used a restroom in most other dispensaries. Silk Road NYC installed bidets in its restrooms when it opened in February 2024, the first licensed dispensary in New York to do it. The reason is personal: founder Sohan Bashar grew up in a Muslim household where cleanliness is not a preference, it is a daily practice, and he built the store to that standard.
In the Islamic tradition the founder was raised in, washing with water is part of everyday cleanliness. Silk Road did not treat that as a private habit to leave at home. It became the baseline for the whole building: the restrooms, the lounge, the counter and the dab bar are held to the same standard the founder holds himself to.
