Northern Lights is the indica that other indicas are measured against. It has been around since the 1980s, it is a parent or grandparent of a long list of modern strains, and it is still one of the most requested evening flowers at our counter.
Genetics and numbers
Indica, descended from Afghani landrace genetics with some Thai in the background. The line came out of the Pacific Northwest and was stabilized and made famous in the Netherlands in the mid-1980s. It is typically myrcene-dominant. The Doobie Labs batch on our shelf tested just over 30% THC, which is high for the strain.
Smell and taste
Sweet and earthy with a clear pine note and a little spice on the exhale. The buds are dense and resin-heavy, often with purple in the leaves.
